Martinu / Kodály
The duo gave a convincing performance of Martinu’s Sonata, both technically and musically. Schmid has an impressive ability to make even slow passages swing. Kodály’s Sonata has an urgent feel to it, persuasive in its elaboration of the “Hungarian dialect”. An excellent disc!
